Caring for your truffle
Wipe: Gently wipe off any excess moisture with a paper towel
Wrap: Use a clean dry paper towel to wrap the truffle.
Store: Place the wrapped truffle into a clean glass jar. Put the lid on and and store it in the fridge. Avoid plastic containers or bags - these can trap moisture and prematurely age the truffle. Do not freeze your truffle.
Every day: Change the paper towel daily until you use up the truffle. This will keep the truffle at its best. The towel will become damp as the truffle naturally "sweats". Change it and wipe out any condensation in the jar.
Having said all that try and enjoy your truffle as soon as possible! Fresh truffle can last up to two weeks however the intense aroma concentrates early and slowly softens over time. The season is short - spoil yourself and enjoy while you can!
